Is The US Spying on Your School Research?

Karen Lippold, a librarian at Memorial University in St. John's says that certain reasearch search engines are being watched by the US Government, and students research could be flagged and stored in their database. This has prompted some Universities to abandon US based servers to protect their privacy. Lippold says "Canadians should be able to do research without coming under the umbrella of the U.S. Patriot Act."
